smiggle gets a wriggle on for a good cause

This entry is coming to you LIVE from New Zealand!!!!!

We’re feeling super lucky and extremely inspired today as some of our Smiggle team members got out their walking shoes for a very worthy cause, the Foundation for Youth Development’s (FYD’s) annual BIG WALK.

Held at 9 locations around New Zealand, The Big Walk encourages New Zealanders (and visitors!) to support kiwi kids by taking part in a 2km, 5km or 10km walk.

Money raised throughout this awesome event is used to help over 18,000 young kiwis every year. The funds are channelled into programs, run in schools and community groups all over the country, which build self esteem in kiwi kids and teach valuable life, education and health skills. Plus we hear they’re loads of fun (naturally!)

We couldn’t think of a better reason to walk some of New Zealand’s most beautiful mountains this weekend! Even Emma, from the Melbourne Smiggle office couldn’t resist participating and jumped a flight to meet the crew. Here are just some of her happy snaps from walking the Karamatura Track in Huia, 40 minutes outside Auckland.

The beautiful area of Huia, New Zealand where the Karamatura track walk was held… awwww so pretty!
